Dear Friends of La Garrigue
==========
Chers Amis,
Things are slowly improving. It is far from being great but I hope that by next Saturday I will have something to smile about. No, I am not talking about the business; I am talking about the performance of the French Rugby team. Following an unimpressive win against Scotland, a poor performance against Wales, and a wake-up call against Ireland, Les Bleus have managed a win In Italy; not a great spectacle by any means, but a win ...is this the light at the end of the tunnel? Will they be able to outplay England on Saturday? Very unlikely but who knows!
One thing I am sure of is that Rugby is good for business and we are looking at a very busy week-end for the Ireland/ Scotland Game at Murrayfield. February and March have been busy with Valentine’s day, three Rugby week-ends and Mothers Day. We have enjoyed your company.
We recently added a couple of offers to boost business a bit, a pre-theatre menu at 6pm, Sunday to Friday and a one course option for lunch with a coffee at £8.50. It is good to see that a few people have already taken advantage of these offers.
The first of our Special events; the Spanish Evening on Wednesday 18th March has attracted a fair amount of interest and I am looking forward to it. Mark has come up with an interesting and unusual Spanish menu and Gill from Alexander Wines has selected some really good wines from Spain; looks like we are going to have a great evening. The menu is now on the website.
April for me is going to be a very busy month with plenty of activities. To start with our always popular Vegetarian evening on the 8th of April presents a six course vegetarian dinner and matching wines, using the best new season products; asparagus, morels, wild garlic, rhubarb. Maybe not in this order mind you!
Then the start of our Languedoc wine trip calendar for 2015. A week of sunshine, good wine, good food and a good measure of fun. From the 19th to the 26th of April. You will be able to follow us on Facebook , YouTube and Twitter. I just put the last touches to the timetable for the week and this is going to be the best one to date with new vineyards, a couple of new restaurants, fantastic accommodation and great bunch of people waiting to welcome us once more. This tour is now fully booked but I still have a couple for spaces for the June trip from the 17th to the 24th so if you need a bit of sunshine by then book your place now.
Of course you do not have to go all the way to the south of France to enjoy Languedoc food and wine, La Garrigue is only a phone call away, Morgan and the team will be thrilled to welcome you....in the meantime lets keep our fingers crossed for a good week-end of rugby with a great performance for Scotland and France.
Finally, congratulations to Sara Giudici from Aberdeen, this month’s La Garrigue award winner of a meal for two. Please contact us as soon as possible Sara!
A bientot,
J-Michel
