Blog
Bonjour mes Amis,
Well this is it! All our menus for December have been printed, most reservations have been confirmed, the staff training on the new menus is completed - so we are ready for the final push of 2014.
As you know from my previous letters, 2014 has been a good year and November also proved to be better than we expected. The highlight of the month was our vegetarian – gluten free evening. Quite a challenge for a French restaurant, but on the night the feedback was tremendous especially from the non vegetarian people. The food produced by Marc and his team reminded me so much of the vegetarian delights produced at L’Artichaut...... I was thrilled by the amount of interest and the fact that the restaurant was fully booked that evening made it the best attended of the Special event dinners held at La Garrigue this year. You are not going to be surprised if I tell you that I am planning another similar dinner sometime next year in February.
Of course I will carry on with La Garrigue’s special dinners throughout 2015 and like the Tour de France, we may very well travel past a few borders next year...La Garrigue in Italy...Spain...Germany it could be interesting, as long as I can put my hands on some good bottles of wine.
Talking about wine. Next year, due to a huge demand; I am planning THREE wine trips to Languedoc. I promised a few of you that I will publish the dates as soon as possible so we can get the best flight deals through Ryanair - so here we are:
▪ 19th to the 26th of April
▪ 17th to the 24th of June
▪ 20th to the 26th of September
Please give me a call to reserve your place in the group and to help get your flight booked. Remember only 8 spaces per trip, so don’t leave it too late!
I have to make some alterations to our opening times for the early part of 2015 as I am planning to do some work in the kitchen. Please note - we will need to close from the 4th to the 11th of January.
However, La Garrigue will be open throughout the festive period from Christmas Eve to the evening of January 3rd so if you are looking for a wee bite on Boxing Day or any other day you know where to come.
You may have noticed that our rating on Tripadvisor has ...tripped the last few weeks. I know we had a couple of average reviews but the feedback I am getting on a daily basis is so much more positive than that. It would appear this is due to the numbers of reviews received compared with other establishments rather than the rating itself. So, if you have any spare time at this busy time and you feel that La Garrigue’s rating should be a bit higher then please share your dining experience with others in this popular ‘social media’. Thank you!
Before going back to my “turkey plucking”, I want to take this opportunity to thank you for your continued support and wishing you, your family and friends a fantastic Festive break, a great Christmas and a very happy and prosperous 2015.
Joyeux Noel et Bonne Annee to all.
J-Michel, Karen, Morgan ,Marc and all the staff,
