Bonjour mes Amis,
Well that was that, good bye 2014 and welcome 2015! I hope you all had a great Christmas, a very good New Year and that you are happy to be back at work.....
What a year it has been. I became a grandfather, turned 60 and put the business back on the road. La Garrigue had its best year ever and end with a very successful December.
Of course this is not a one man show and I have been lucky to have a strong team behind me and the support of a faithful clientele; thank you all. To the staff for their hard work , commitment, and putting up with me, and to you all for your continued support, and endorsement that resulted in us keeping our 2 AA rosettes, to be recommended in the good Food Guide, winning the Top Table award , and a” HIT grading” in the List magazine. At one point we even reached the top 20 in the Trip Advisor website. We have dropped a few rankings lately but I am sure I can rely on you all to put that right and will ask you to share your dining experience on this popular website, if you dined with us lately.
I decided to close the restaurant for a few days in January as the store room, cellar and dish washing area needed a bit of an upgrade. Joiners, plumbers, electricians, painters are all doing their bit just now, and I have been told this morning that we should be able to reopen on the 13th.....only a couple of days behind schedule; sorry for the inconvenience, but it needed to be done and after a very busy December the staff were in need of a well earn rest.
This means January is going to be a very short month for us . This will give us the time to work on our new menu, the wine list and our calendar of events. We are planning a couple of wines with dinners hosted by the growers, a vegetarian evening, by public demand, and putting the last touches to the first wine trip in Languedoc from the 15 to the 22nd of April. By then I will be ready for a bit of sunshine so if you decide to join me let me know as soon as possible as this is the time to book your flights to get the best deal possible.
Well this is it for now folks, back to cleaning up the mess left behind today by the workmen, and go home for an early evening to enjoy Karen’s cooking!
A bientot,
J-Michel
