The Chef
Jean Michel Gauffre, left his home region in the south of France over 20 years ago and
moved to Scotland where he lives today with his Scottish born wife, Karen, and two sons.
Over the years he has built up a superb reputation in the culinary world and received
recognition for his skills including certificates, plaudits and request appearances.

Latterly he worked as executive chef for the Sheraton Grand in Edinburgh before taking on
the role of food and beverage director for a number of luxury hotels. Fortunately for the
inhabitants of Edinburgh summer 2001 saw him return to the stove to realise his personal
ambition and open his first restaurant La Garrigue specialising in the food of his beloved
home region, Languedoc.
