Dear Friend of La Garrigue,
I learned a long time ago not to put all my eggs in the same basket, and following the results of the last rugby week-end I am so glad I did not put all my eggs on France and still have a chance not to end up with an omelet providing Scotland do not win their next game at Murrrayfield…and France win theirs! My only problem is the fact that both teams are actually playing each other and the way France are playing just now, I can see a big fricata coming my way!!
You may not have noticed but Spring is on its way and with this a lot of things are happening at La Garrigue starting with Mothering Sunday on the 6th of March and a special offer for Mum. For every table of four and more, one mother’s lunch or dinner will be on us when you order from the Mothering Sunday special menu! So what are you waiting for? Book your table now!
I also finalised the menu and the wine for our next event on the 23rd of March; an evening to compare the wines from the Southern Hemisphere, Argentina, South Africa, New Zealand and Australia against a selection from, you guessed it - Languedoc! A 5 course dinner with 2 small glasses of wine , one from a Southern Hemisphere and one from Languedoc with every course, a fun evening it will be and one I am really looking forward to. At £65.00 the menu is a very good deal; the evening will start at 7pm. Our menu is available here.
I have not forgotton our numerous vegetarian friends and I am still working on the menu and the wines for the Vegetarian/gluten free evening on the 13th of April . I know how popular it is so I wanted to give you plenty of notice so you can reserve your table early enough.
Of course if you really want something different why don’t you join me for a chocolate/wine pairing evening on the 26th of March at the splendid Fairnilee House at Clovenfords in the Borders near Galashiels. My good friend and Master Chocolatier Olivier Nicod has joined forces with Mrs Tracey Mason and organised this special private wine and chocolate tasting; the evening will start at 5.30 pm until 8pm. You may book at Masons of Melrose, call or e-mail Tracey at traceymason@mac.comor call at 01896754393 for more information.
After all this I will be relieved to know that my next event will take place in the South of France for the first of my wine tours programed for 2016. I will be leaving on the 17th of April for a week of fine dining, wine tasting and some much needed sunshine. I still have two spaces left so why don’t you treat yourself and join me; you need it as much as I do and you know it!!
To finish with a smile, what about this lady looking for a favour or special treatment whose argument was ”I am a regular you know - I was there 10 years ago!!!!”
I really hope I’ll see you before then.
A bientôt,
J-Michel
