Is that a ray of
sunshine piercing through the kitchen door? Spring must be on its way at long
last; for a while I thought we were going to have a white Easter .....mind you
never know. I cannot believe we are already in Spring. Soon the Asparagus, wild
garlic, and lamb will be on the menu.
So far March has been a good month, except for the rugby results of course! We had a very busy week-end, due to the rugby and Mother’s Day and a successful dinner for the launch of our “Gastronomique Tour De France” with the first stage in Alsace. I want to thank you for your support during this event and thanksalso to Julie who made the kugelhopf and the macaroons and my old friend Daniel, from Alsace, who played host for the evening. Thanks you to both.
I am already looking forward to the second stage of our Tour; an evening in Burgundy on the 30th of April...I am sure the wines will be superb and the food as good as ever.
Before this, I hope you will join me on the 10th of April, for the first of our food and wine days. The day will be focussed around the ”Vignobles de Foncallieu” with wine tasting between 11am and 4 pm for people in the trade, wine waiters, wine merchants, sommeliers, restaurant managers or just people with a good wine cellar who wish to add to their collections.
In the evening we will have a dinner around the Domaine de Haut Gleon, one of the finest domaines in the Corbieres, from La Vallee Du Paradis. With such a name the wines taste like made in Heaven. The menu is on our website and we already have a few bookings. As usual the evening will start at 7.15 for 7.30. It is advisable to book in advance as the places are limited to 30.
You are not going to believe this but it is snowing again....and the wind is blowing a gale; time for a warm plate of Victor lentil and ham soup!
A bientot,
J-Michel
