I cannot believe we are in May already! If things don’t slow down soon I will have my bus pass before long! Mind you, at least I will save a fortune in parking, petrol, train fares and speeding fines....
April has been a good month with lots of things happening; a dinner with the Domaine Haut Gleon, a unplanned trip to France to visit my old Mum and the family and to finish last night's dinner; the stage 2 of our “Gastronomique Tour De France” an Evening in Burgundy. Once again the attendance for the event was really good , the wines were excellent and the food did them justice. Thank you to all the people who keep supporting us during these evenings.
I must admit I did enjoy my trip in the Midi; it was my first break in two years and I think it was needed! There is nothing better than going back home to recharge the batteries....
My timing was perfect as well as I enjoyed the first asparagus and the first crop of Garriguettes,( those small and flavoursome strawberries). I even managed to do a bit of foraging and find some wild asparagus and morels......the one used on the menu last night with the veal sweetbreads....hope you appreciated them.!

I was delighted to see that La Garrigue was one again HIT listed in this year's List Magazine....thanks guys, it is nice to be recognised. Our rating on Trip Advisor is also getting better, so lots of positives!
Obviously this month will see a few changes in our menu as Spring is now on us and we will keep you updated with the new dishes....I just finalised the menu and picked the wines for the Stage 3 of our “Tour de France” which on the 23rd of May will take us to Provence! A few people have already booked their table as this programme is getting really popular. So if you don’t want to miss out..”.get on your Bike “ and book your table now! Once again Philippe from L’Art Du Vin will supply us with the wines and the ones I tasted so far are ....amazing!
I am also working on a special trip to my beloved Languedoc sometimes in September; I want to take a group of people for a week in the Midi; on the schedule a few wine tastings and visits of some special vineyards, the opportunity to do the “vendanges” for a day and see how they make the wines; a couple of traditional grapes picking lunches, a trip to Roquefort to sample the famous cheese, a day in Sete to sample the local sea-food and wines; a good dose of sight-seeing and tourism...and of course the visits of my favourite local restaurants.....if you like the idea and are not too fussy about your waist line....get in touch!
Have a great May
Hope to see you again soon,
J-Michel
