Dear Friends of La Garrigue
==========
Mes Amis Bonjour!
I do apologise for this second newsletter in a month but due to problem with our internet connection it is likely that a few of our friends did not received our last letter. If you are one of these please catch up with our last newsletter here.
I am really happy with the edited version of the April wine trip in Languedoc. Our cameraman Jonathan has done a good job and you can watch it here. It should give you an idea of what to expect should you decide to trust me with a week of fine food, wine and discovery. The uncut version is also available ....at a price as it could ruin a few reputations!
Some good news; our rating in Trip Advisor is getting better again and La Garrigue has recently been awarded “the Hall of Fame” Award. Thanks to all that leave reviews, it means a lot to us.
La Garrigue has now its own labelled whisky; a limited edition of Cask strength Bruichladdich, on sale exclusively at the restaurant.
I am also very pleased for La Garrigue to feature in the third edition of Relish Scotland, a highly prized cookery book with the best recipes from some of the best places to eat in Scotland. Signed copies are of course available at 31 Jeffrey Street.
Some important dates for your calendar;
▪ La Garrigue will be taking part in the “Savour” food and wine festival at Summerhall on the 5th of July.
▪ Our next Vegetarian evening will be on the 22nd of July...always the most popular of our special evenings!
▪ Wine maker Samuel Guibert from the celebrated Domaine of Daumas Gassac will be hosting a wine tasting and dinner at La Garrigue the 14th of October (limited spaces available).
Finally, some of you may have had the privilege of meeting John Vicary. John passed away last summer following an accident at work He was a friend of La Garrigue, a member of the first of La Garrigue Wine Tour, a gentleman and a Gentle Giant. His family and close friends request our support to raise £10,000 for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance. For more information go to www.justgiving.com/Jon-Vicary/ and please be generous.
Alternatively you may wish to bid for a bottle of our limited edition La Garrigue whisky which I’m delighted to donate. Email your bids to me please at reservations@lagarrigue.co.uk and someone will be able to enjoy a wee dram AND help a very good cause.
I wish you all a very pleasant Spring, and hope to have the pleasure of your company in the near future.
A bientot,
J-Michel
