« Plus ca change…plus c’est la même chose ! » What is it about November ?
Last year, at about the same time I was writing how poor November had been.
Well this year is not any better; actually, if you add a poor October and an average September, you will understand why I am looking so much towards December!!!
Of course November is about Armistice Day, the beginning of winter, and also my birthday....... I had so many of them already that it is getting a bit depressing!! If you add up a dose of political yes/no; did he /did he not; a celebrity paedophile cover up, the conflict Israel/Palestine, and the Scottish foot-ball and rugby team results.....there is not a lot to be thrilled about!
I suppose this is why we have December to follow such a dreadful month, office parties, Princess Street market, the ice rink , the big wheel, carol singers, mulled wine, Christmas, presents, and La Garrigue full of happy customers!!! Then of course we will have the famous Edinburgh Hogmanay with party goers and fireworks....cannae wait!!
Talking about Christmas, did you have a look at our Festive menu? Maybe you should; there are lots of interesting winter dishes on offer suitable for private dining as well as office parties. This year again both restaurants will be open for Christmas Day and we still have a few tables left, so if you don’t want to spend the whole day in the kitchen and want to leave the washing up to someone else, ....we are just a telephone call away!!
The Bistro in Leith will open from 12.30 pm until early evening, while in Jeffrey Street, we will offer two sittings at 12/12.30pm and 5/5.30pm.
After a great dinner, a few glasses of champagne, we will welcome the New Year at Hogmanay, before .....starting all over again.......!!
I really hope to see you during this festive period and wish you all a great end of 2012, a wonderful Christmas and all you wish for in 2013....
Warmest festive wishes from all at La Garrigue.
Thank you so much for your continued support,
J-Michel
