Dear friends of La Garrigue
I just realise that in 10 weeks I will be away to the south of France for the first of 2017 wine trip and to be honest with you I cannae wait ! Mind you by then I may be send back to France for good and will be organising whisky tours in Scotland for French wine growers.....now that ‘s a thought!
Until then I will be looking after La Garrigue and helping Morgan and Weiwei to run the business ; making up the menus ,managing the wine list, being your host, while making a fool of myself by pretending to be a fully qualified waiter....
It was nice to have a few days off in January while the front of the restaurant was being painted and the floor sanded and polished; what a difference it makes to the room and this is only the first stage of the upgrading as starting in February Andrew Walker , the artist who supply us with Paintings from Languedoc is going to paint a mural of a Languedoc vineyard on the main wall of the restaurant ; how exciting!
In spite of closing for a few days, January has been a good month. The new menuhas been well received and the reservations for “the Auld Alliance Burns Supper “ (Menu click here) are doing well; we still have a few spaces left so if you are free for the evening of the 25th of January give us a call.
Only a few days left before the start of the 6 Nations Rugby Championship. Edinburgh will host Ireland for the first clash of the season and I am looking forward to a very close tournament this year and I hope Mr Cotter is going to leave Scotland on a high...Of course will be open for business and have created few special menus to welcome the visiting supports to La Garrigue..
Will you be one of them?
Alors a bientot?
